Elephant Burial Rituals and an Imperiled Future

Amendments facilitating the trade in captive elephants for “religious and other purposes'“ are expected not only to worsen the already imperiled status of India’s wild elephants, but are also purported to have enabled the acquisition of some among the 200 elephants populating the infamous Reliance Vantara “Rescue Centre”.
