Seed Dispersing Manatees

Confirming a previously hypothesised role of the Amazonian Manatee as a gardener of the forests, biologist Michelle Guterres’ study adds another cap to the already impressive portfolio of this gentle giant. Amazonian Manatees are ‘Vulnerable’ on the IUCN Red list because of hunting, climate change, droughts and habitat loss.
